Pacers-Pistons

There are better teams than the Pacers and Pistons out there for cash fantasy basketball fans. Indiana has a few decent players but they have no franchise caliber players. That’s usually not a good thing in cash fantasy basketball but they do have a few decent players that may be worth your time in fantasy this season. The same essentially holds true for the Detroit Pistons despite their young talent. Unlike Indiana the Pistons don’t have much of a chance to make the postseason this year. Still much like the Pacers they have a couple of decent players that can be cash fantasy basketball starters for you. When these two teams got together this weekend the difference in ability was on display for all to see. The Pacers clobbered the Pistons and won this game handily despite a strong second half showing from Detroit.

The Pacers were led by David West who got 16 points and eight rebounds in this contest. He didn’t have the strongest night but it was good enough to be a second forward in cash fantasy basketball this season. West will not get a whole lot better than he is right now but that’s not necessarily a bad thing because the Pacers are all about team effort. They don’t need any particular player to do well. The Pistons are much the same way but they lack the talent that Indiana has. They had to play this game without their best player Brandon Knight and his absence was keenly felt. He’s not an elite player but he’s the best pure scorer on the team. Without him Greg Monroe had to step up and do his thing but unfortunately he’s not a great scoring threat. He’s fantastic in the low post but he needs some help on the outside to do anything in the paint.
